60,000 Visitors Thronged Through Ponte 16 on Opening Weekend

(Macau SAR, 4th February 2008) Ponte 16 successfully opened to the public on 1st February, 2008. Despite being one of the coldest nights this winter, a line of eager visitors started forming hours before the casino opened its doors to public at 10:00pm.

Following the spectacular launch ceremony, the celebrations moved indoors to a party featuring performances by Hong Kong singers Stephy Tang and Theresa Fu, and a fashion show featuring Hong Kong designer Arthur Lam’s latest evening wear collection and jewelry sponsored by Chow Tai Fook. The highlight of the evening was famous Mandarin R&B heartthrob David Tao who performed with his “live” band, sending all guests into a feverish fervor.

On Opening Day, Ponte 16 packed in over 20,000 visitors. All in all, over 60,000 visitors thronged through Ponte 16 over Opening Weekend by 6:00am on 4th February 2008.

Ponte 16 integrated casino-entertainment resort, built over 2.3 hectares, is ideally located in the culturally rich Inner Harbor of Macau. At its completion, the resort consists of a five-star hotel, a casino and an upcoming entertainment and retail complex. The current phase opens with two levels of casino area offering 105 gaming tables and 300 slot machines.
