Hollywood “Legends” Exhibition and Auction in Ponte 16 Macau
Hollywood Collectibles in Town and Graces Ponte 16 Again
(18 August 2010, Macau) – Ponte 16 Resort Hotel, Macau (“Ponte 16”) hosted the press conference on the Exhibition & Auction of Hollywood “Legends” to announce Ponte 16’s further partnership with Julien’s Auctions, bringing the best collection of pop culture artifacts to Asia for public viewing, as well as the first ever auction in Asia. The exhibition will be open free to public from late September at Ponte 16 Macau.
Attending the press conference were Dr. Ambrose So, Chairman of Ponte 16, Dr. Hoffman Ma, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ponte 16, Mr. Darren Julien, President and Chief Executive Officer of Julien’s Auctions and Mr. Martin Nolan, Executive Director of Julien’s Auctions.
A few highlights of the collection made their debut at the press conference today, including Michael Jackson’s Bad Tour “Beat It” jacket, black glove and arm brace, Princess Diana’s ball gown, a shirt owned and worn by Elvis Presley, Bruce Lee’s “Game of Death” shoes and stunt double costume, the stage ensemble of Madonna from “The Girlie Show World Tour”, Jim Carrey’s Riddler costume from “Batman Forever” and a signed promotional photo of The Beatles.
The exhibition and the auction marks the second time the two are in partnership, following the highly successful Ponte 16’s “Rock the World” Exhibition in May. There will be more than 400 auction items, with almost 200 to be put on display at Ponte 16 as the grand finale of a world exhibition lasting from 24 September to 8 October. The historic auction will be held on 9 October at Ponte 16, with buyers and collectors from all over the world in attendance, making it the greatest and most “star-studded” event in Macau and Asia. Ponte 16 and Julien’s Auctions plan to develop the exhibition and auction into a yearly event for Ponte 16.

Ponte 16 brought the one and only Michael Jackson Gallery to Asia in February this year, establishing itself as a “must see” tourist destination in Macau. The “Rock the World” Exhibition which was held in the Golden Week of May also received an overwhelming response. The forthcoming Hollywood “Legends” Exhibition and Auction at Ponte 16 is expected to attract more tourists from all over the world to Ponte 16 and to Macau’s historic Inner Harbour.
