Hollywood "Legends" Exhibition in Ponte 16 Macau

About 200 Pieces of Superstars and Celebrities Collectibles on Spectacular Display

(21 September 2010, Macau) The Hollywood “Legends” Exhibition, co-organized by Ponte 16 Resort Hotel, Macau (“Ponte 16”) and Julien’s Auctions, held its opening ceremony today at Ponte 16. About 200 pieces of collectibles belonging to world-famous legends are put on display in the exhibition from 22 September to 8 October, free for public viewing. Meanwhile, on 9 October, Ponte 16 will sponsor the first auction held by Julien’s Auctions in Asia. The upcoming auction at Ponte 16 will be one of the greatest and most “star-studded” international auctions in Asia and will attract buyers and collectors from around the world.

Chairman of Ponte 16 Dr. Ambrose So, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Dr. Hoffman Ma, together with officiating guests Mr. Lo Veng Tak, Acting President of the Administration Committee of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR, Mr. Zhang Xiaoguang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Culture and Education of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, Mr. Leong Heng Teng, Chairman of the General Union of the Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, Ms. Angela Leong, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Macau SAR, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of Julien’s Auctions Mr. Darren Julien and Executive Director Mr. Martin Nolan presided over the opening ceremony. Joining them were also Mr. Aariff Rahman, who played the role of Bruce Lee in the upcoming movie “Bruce Lee My Brother”, and super model Ana R.

The exhibition at Ponte 16 served as the grand finale of a worldwide exhibition of Julien’s Auctions, where about 200 pieces out of 400 auction items are on display, featuring collectibles from a number of superstars and celebrities including Princess Diana, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Madonna, Marilyn Monroe and the pride of Chinese – Bruce Lee. In the spotlight are the ensembles of King of Pop Michael Jackson, from The Jackson 5 period to the pinnacle of his performing career. Others include an array of costumes and props from Hollywood blockbusters such as “Batman Returns”, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Star Trek” and the TV series “24”.

The exhibition at Ponte 16 is not only “star-studded”, but also “invaluable” with very high estimated bidding prices for each of the auction items. For example, the costume of Bruce Lee’s stuntman in “Game of Death” has an estimate of US$20,000, Michael Jackson’s black Swarovski crystal glove and arm brace, US$50,000, and Michael Keaton’s costume in “Batman Returns”, US$60,000. The estimated bidding prices for Princess Diana’s ball gown and Elvis Presley’s autographed guitar also reach US$100,000 each.

The Hollywood “Legends” Exhibition is open free to the public at the Exhibition Hall on Level 2 of Ponte 16, from now till 8 October. Opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
